If you are in the Miami area and want to learn more about Ansca and Corona, join me today at Florida International University. Details at http://bit.ly/9qIWlH
Carlos
Hi Carlos, I realize I'm a few days late but would have loved to go to this (I'm in Palm Beach Florida). Is there a place where you have centralized announcements of appearances by Ansca staff? I do subscribe to the newsletter so maybe that's where you are communicating that type of info?
Thanks,
Marc
im so upset i missed this. just found out about it now. any idea when you'll be in the south florida area again?
How about some midwest love? :> St. Louis? Chicago?
I'm in Orlando, may we can set up meeting ,
send me ur email
Carlos,
Really Miami? On November 2? You gotta be kidding.
I live in Kissimmee (Orlando). I would have come in flash (opps).
But I did not know you were there.
We need an app (“Where in the world is Carlos”) That sends a signal to all corona mobile developers, to alert us of learning opportunities.
Ed
Orlando here too. Maybe we should have our own Corona Meet-Up for central FL?
Perhaps if there were enough people interested, Carlos would make a trip? Only a couple hours away...
Corona meet up in o-town? I'm in.
I attempted to setup an unofficial "Orlando Corona SDK Developers" group on meetup.com, but didn't realize its over $100 per year just to create a group. Since that's the case, I just created an off-topic thread so we can coordinate there (and won't need to hijack any more threads, lol).

I plan to be in South Florida in December
I don't have dates yet
More than happy to swing by Orlando and we can do a Corona Meetup for
Orlando/Tampa/Jacksonville folks
And one in Miami
how does that sound?
who wants to be lead on this project?
email me

c.
that sounds awesome, I sent you an email.
update: http://developer.anscamobile.com/forum/2011/11/05/orlando-corona-sdk-unofficial-meetup-group
(vote: dec 15, or dec 20?)
Please let me know if you would like me to be there either Dec 15th or Dec 20th.
C.
20th is better for me, but I can do either if anyone else's schedule is less flexible.
i honestly prefer 20th, but am flex.
c.
I might even be able to do 20th
if I decide to make the 12 hour drive
20th works for me as well
Producerism,
I will kick in the 100 bucks so we can be an official "Orlando Corona SDK Developers" group on meetup.com.
Let me know, I will send it via paypal.
I would really look forward to the meetup.
If I can assist, let me know
Ed Wainwright
Thanks so much for the offer Ed!
I don't believe we need to use meetup.com, it seems that the forums here are plenty, at least for the first gathering. If we do need anything more "official" we could just setup a website/blog for it anyways, much cheaper than $100.
Just to get an idea... what date would work best for you (dec 15 or dec 20)?
Producerism,
I see 2 folks including Carlos have indicated that the December 20th is a good day, I can make it then also.
I guess the next step is to find out when carlos would be available, ie all day, morning, afternoon, or evening.
The next requirement is to find a location for the meetup, perhaps Carlos can provide us a contact to give us an idea as to the room requirements and av requirements, ie projector)
Lastly we need to gather the Corona users and interested parties in Central Florida.
Let me know how I can assist.

I can make it the 20th all day - we can shoot for an evening (late afternoon) meetup
I guess anywhere within driving distance from Orlando Aidrport as I will most likely be flying in from Miami.
I would need a projector.
Last meetup I had in Chicago was around 50 people. The more the merrier.
Food/Drinks/etc will be provided(we have a budget).
Anything else?
C
never been to Orlando so
not sure what a aidrport is
haha
I suggested using the building where I work at, which is located right in the middle of downtown orlando (64 E Concord St - http://g.co/maps/uerxw). Projector, wifi, parking all provided.
Of course, I'm game for any other location (however this one would be free, in case that's a perk).
It's about 8 miles from the airport, 8 miles from International (Universal studios area), and about 18 from Kissimmee (disney area). Sort of smack dab in the middle of Orlando.
I'd also suggest a late afternoon/evening meetup (4pm-ish)
For other suggestions, perhaps a loose agenda of what to discuss? e.g.
Sounds like a great location.
How many folks can meet there? (Target attendance)
Carlos would you want me to drive you to and from the airport?
Ed
Ed that would be ok but I can also rent a car :-) lets chat when we get closer.
C
We've hosted events here with upwards of 60 people in our "lounge" so that shouldn't be a problem. However, we would have to rent some chairs for that many.
Otherwise, if attendance is around 20-30, there are many more options, as we have a few different rooms to pick from.
sounds good, make it in Orlando , on 15th or 20th this great, I do not know if is it possible that I can get room from University of Central Florida , the question before I ask them,
how many days the meeting will be ??
and how many persons ??
before I ask them, because I student there,
I'd love to join as well if its on the 20th!
