I finally got around to submitting Matchimals to the appstore. It's been finished for a few months, but I only just got around to submitting it last wednesday. It's great that the appstore approval process is down to only a few business days now.

Here's a link to the game in the appstore:

Here are some promo codes if anybody wants to try it out:

Looks awesome! I wish I could play it but I don't have an iPad. You should release for iPhone too! Can't you use the exact same codebase?

I'm glad you think so!

Yeah, I do have intentions of releasing the app on android and iphone. The codebase should be basically identical. The only thing I'm not clear about yet is what I'm going to do for the sizes. I have an obsession with making all of my apps use up as much of the screen as I can (without visible menu elements etc), so I need to think of some ways to offer multiple image sizes while making the animals still visible and large enough so that people can touch them without fat fingering other animals.

The interface may also have to change slightly to accommodate the smaller devices, but I'm not sure by how much yet.

Looks very cute. Did you created the graphics yourself? If yes, which software was used for it?

I use Gimp and Inkscape for graphics. On that game most of the images are from openclipart.org and some of the icons are from the Milky icon set, and some other set that I can't remember right now.

I typically download the images as svg from openclipart.org and then manipulate them to my liking in inkscape, then I export them as pngs for use in the app.
